Appeal from an order of the district court denying defendants' motions for judgments notwithstanding the verdict or for a
new trial. One action was for personal injuries to Roger Emmet Johnson and was brought by his father and natural guardian, Emmet Leroy
Johnson, and the other action was for medical and hospital expenses incurred by the father. The injuries were alleged to have
been caused by the negligence of defendants, Clement F. Sculley Construction Company and Walter D. Giertsen Company, which
resulted in an accident in Minneapolis on July 21, 1952. The jury returned verdicts in favor of Roger for $45,000 and in favor
of Emmet for $6,165.
